Argh… Where do I even begin… So in the recent weeks I’ve been stuck with multiple things and I have a buuuunch of things I am working on, reading and investigating… It has gone so bad that I even feel a bit overwhelmed.
So to tackle this I’ve gone and improved my setup!
Why? Just because.
Kidding. It was always fascinating to me to automate simple tasks even if it is just plain typing.

This has to be the first time my head flooded with ideas on how can this be turnt into a profitable project. Even a micro-saas! Maybe this blogging thing is starting to produce its benefits! This weeks work was directed towards a PoC for an opinion miner that I wanted to create. The idea is the following:
When someone needs to find out what does the general public think of a certain topic who to ask?

This has to be one of the worst experiences I’ve had dealing with some code regarding dotnet. To be honest first time in forever I was stuck bashing my head thinking will I be able to do this and at the end, I am not sure I truly did it. Anyway I am here to discuss what I found and what I managed to learn.
Introduction Finally it came time when I can no longer write simple things in .net and call it a day. To be honest I’ve completed all of the previous posts in a day and left them to cook for about 24h more since I wanted to get a good night sleep before uploading. I haven’t still written here anything I do for job that I find interesting. Yes, .net is something we are keen on in the firm but at the end of the day I don’t think I’ve managed to really learn anything.

Right around the time when I started getting involved in our lovely sport of programming cloud was becoming a big thing. To understand the whole cloud one would have to spend a lot of time deep diving into certain topics and bits and pieces of software. Why cloud became super popular is because of startups. You could really quickly deploy your idea somewhere and test if it is working.

I’m kind of having fun with these dotnet deep dives and I’ve had some ideas pop here and there so I want to keep the theme going. There were a lot of times where I needed to quickly test something and I didn’t have the whole database set and the one standard migrations setup wasn’t plausible. To further enhance my point, I think that with the way migrations are explained its hard to test new databases since migrations tie you to a database type.

So a couple of days ago I was asked if I could take a look at the code that a collegue wrote. If I was to be honest about what I really like about my work that would be looking at unexpected issues people encounter and trying to solve them. I’ve never felt the same about discovering solutions to my problems and to problems of others probably because I usually expect my problems down the line whilst with others they just pop up and go randomly.
I guess the most logical way to start is to tell a story about this blog. I was never a frontend guy myself and probably never will be although I hope that this journey might at least give me more insights into it. I knew I didn’t want to code any frontend and that I just want to create a blog, write stuff and get it done with. Maybe I looked at it from a wrong perspective since I really wanted to have something deployed and, well, presentable.
As the title suggests… Hello! Each beginning is.. well.. hard? I’ve made it a question just so I make an excuse to discuss it. The whole idea of this blog came to mind because the year 2023 was a weird one for me. I didn’t finish a bunch of stuff I wanted to and probably needed to and therefore decided to make this year (2024) a year of doing, growing and as you can see writing!
